The downturn continues to hit hard with the top ten Chinese ports all recording reduced volumes in October compared to the same month in 2014. The Chinese ports of Shanghai, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Qingdao, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Dalian, Xiamen, Yingkou and Lianyungang combined to record a 1.2% drop in throughput. The largest drop was posted by the port of Dalian which saw a 35.6% fall in TEU.

Shanghai is the worlds businest container port and despite the fall in numbers still moved a massive 3 million TEU for the month of October.
