E.R Long Beach departs Melbourne

With the E.R Long Beach being the first laden ship successfully unloaded at Melbourne's new terminal VICT, it is time to say farewell. After the E.R Long Beach docked at Melbourne in the early hours of Sunday morning, it was expected to depart the following day but due to technical and software issues at the terminal it was extensively delayed. The Long Beach only departed Port of Melbourne early afternoon the following Thursday.

A VICT spokesperson confirmed that all import containers had been "successfully unloaded and in addition, all laden export containers were successfully loaded onto the vessel". Due to the patience of MSC, VICT were able to deliver one of the largest ship exchanges to be seen in Melbourne. VICT hope to resolve the teething problems faced this time, and look forward to welcoming the largest container ships to ever call at the Port of Melbourne.
