Introducing Tomax Logistics Australia |
From 1st January 2009 M&D Jones and Tomax Container Line were merged together to form Tomax Logistics Australia. Tomax Logistics will run under the M&D Jones Customs ABN-ACN as a trading name. All invoices raised from the 1st of January were in the name of Tomax Logistics. Invoices which you received prior to 1st January 2009 in the name of M&D Jones Customs or Tomax Container Line should be paid as normal to the accounts mentioned on those invoices. If you have any queries regarding the invoices please do not hesitate to contact us.

| We have moved to Clayton |
As you may be aware we moved premises on the 19th December 2008 and are now located at First Floor, 6 Sarton Road, Clayton. The move went well and staff have settled in nicely. | Fuel Surcharges |
Fuel Surcharges have fallen for the month of February. Normans transport in Melbourne are now at 6% as from 1st February, Sydney is at 7%, Brisbane at 8.9%, and Fremantle at 11%. | Ocean freight rates still in free fall |
Freight rates continue to fall which whilst good news for importers currently in their battle against higher supplier costs and a flailing Aussie Dollar, means a bleak outlook for the market in general. Some lines have cancelled sailings or amended schedules post Chinese New Year to try to deal with the slowdown. Rates are at the lowest levels seen for a long time. | Your account with Tomax Logistics |
Whilst it is understood that everyone is facing cash flow issues currently, it is VITAL that you endeavour to get your account with us up to date. As your forwarder/broker we are responsible for paying out charges on your behalf to other parties. About 90% of the money currently owed to us is paid out by us prior to cargo release to you, and the longer that goes outstanding the harder it is for us to arrange more payments on your or other clients behalf. Please work with us to get your account in hand by contacting your account manager with any queries. To those clients who assist with regular on time payments we sincerely appreciate your efforts.

| Staff Milestones |
Congratulations to Adrian Crowley and Soucheng Chan who have both just completed their first year here at Tomax Logistics. Adrian works in transport operations and customer service and is also studying to be a customs broker one day. Soucheng works in import freight operations and also assists in export lcl work. Thanks for your good work Adrian and Soucheng.
